Parks Delivered. Promises Kept. Progress Ahead.

Here to fight for your family

A young man with dark hair and a mustache sitting on a black metal bench outdoors, dressed in a light gray suit, white shirt, and beige pants, smiling at the camera with a black ring on his left finger. Behind him is a black metal fence and buildings, with sunlight casting shadows.

Jozef Maldonado is a scientist, community leader, and proud son of a Mexican immigrant father and a Puerto Rican mother who understands the challenges working families face because he has lived them. After putting himself through community college while working two jobs, he earned his degree in Chemistry with an emphasis in Forensic Science from UC Davis before choosing to build his life in Fullerton.

In 2024, Jozef was appointed to the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Commission, where he helped deliver the Emery Park Playground, supported the opening of Union Pacific Trail and Union Pacific Park, and brought residents together to find common ground on important neighborhood issues.

Jozef and his fiancé, Ryan, are proud to call Fullerton home and will be married this November at Hunt Library. He is running for City Council because he believes every neighborhood deserves to be heard, every family deserves opportunity, and Fullerton's best days are still ahead.
